Bakgatla cycle for shelter

KANYE - Bakgatla ba ga Mmanaana are to embark on a 140-kilometre cycling exercise to raise funds for their kgotla shelter.
The exercise, which is slated for Saturday would be graced by Moshupa Acting Senior Chief Representative, Kgosi Oscar Mosielele.
A committee member, Mr Setlamo Gaadingwe said the cycling exercise is primarily to try and augment the P6 000 that has been raised so far from previous efforts. The estimated cost of the shelter has been put at P2.2 million.
Mr Gaadingwe said the idea to construct a kgotla shelter dates back to 2005 but financial constraints have always botched the project.
He said some members of the tribe have been contributing in the smallest way they can, lamenting though that their efforts have not been enough.
For his part, Kgosi Mosielele said the initiative would revamp self-reliance among Batswana.
The cycling exercise would begin at Sawasawa Lodge in Jwaneng at 5 a.m. with stopovers at Moatle and Polokwe with about 40 cyclists expected to take part.
Interested individuals are invited to take part in the cycling exercise that would end at Moshupa kgotla.
Mr Cross Kgosidiele, MVA Chief Executive Officer whose company would also be among participants is the chief cyclists.
Both MVA and Ministry of Work and Transport are expected to educate the public about proper road usage at the kgotla.
Meanwhile, Kgosi Mosielele disclosed that Gaborone Garage has pledged technical support.BOPA
